September 08th – 10th 2017 in the Old town of Vilnius – heart of Lithuania gathered European leading experts of deer breeding industry because of the autumn FEDFA meeting.
In the meeting representatives of the following National Associations took part: Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia.
“The Russian Deer Breeders Association” was represented at the autumn FEDFA meeting in Lithuania by Natalia Sorokina.
The current problems of deer farming industry in the EU were discussed during the meeting.
All participants of the meeting could also get acquainted with the new version of the FEDFA website, which became brighter, more interesting and modern, it’s filled step by step with actual information. The web page is still available in the test mode to members of FEDFA, but in the nearest future all will be able to see the new FEDFA website.
The second day of the meeting there was an interesting excursion program. All participants visited a farm of Zivile and Ricardas Kveksiene in Ukmerg district, 1,5 h driving to the northwest from Vilnius. Already the second year in a row organize Zivile and Ricardas a grandiose Deer Fest on the territory of their own estate. Open air on the bank of the small picturesque lake meet all fans of deer farming and breeding, build small booths and show their achievements, communicate with each other and exchange experience, listen to scientific reports and participate in discussions, compete in archery and also enjoy the pleasant live music and refined dishes, prepared from venison.
On behalf of “The Russian Deer Breeders Association” we express our sincere gratitude to organizers of FEDFA meeting in Lithuania for the high level of preparation, organization and hospitality. Without doubt, this meeting has left unforgettable impressions.
In August 2018 FEDFA will take place in Russia. Detailed information will be published on our website in the nearest future.
