Association Benelux pur Éleveurs de Cervides (ABÉC)

ABEC, Deer farmers association for the Benelux.

Founded in 1993, the association represents now some 70 members, all of them deer farmers, mostly as a (second) source of income.

Abec has 3 goals:

- to defend the interests of deer farmers at the level of the national authorities. Creating the possibility to slaughter farmed deer all year round, instead of just in the hunting season, is one of the results forthcoming from the efforts of Abec;

- to promote amongst the consumers public the end product of deer farming, being farmed venison, and to spread the awareness of the exquise haute cuisine qualities and healthy food caracteristics of it;

- to spread technical information about deer farming amongst members, with a magazine (3 x per year) and an annual meeting with renown speakers about the subject.

Membership price is 65 euro annualy.
